UDC Studio Policies

Drop off/Pick Up: UDC is not responsible for students care after class is dismissed. You must be prompt when picking up your children after class. Students may ride the bus to UDC where a staff member will be waiting for them, this is NOT childcare, each child will be checked in after the bus arrived and an adult will be present in the building, this is not a babysitter, but a working adult who can attend to the student if needed, but their job is not strictly to watch over each child while on site. Please send your children with snacks (Snacks can be purchased at UDC starting fall 2016), water, and activities for your child while they wait for class.

Empty/Unattended Studios: The use of studios unattended by UDC staff is strictly prohibited. They are not to be used as a play area, waiting room, etc. Anyone found in unattended studios will be asked to leave immediately.

Attendance: Students are expected to come to class regularly and on time. Please notify the office in advance when a student must miss a class. 

Absences: No refunds will be given due to missed lessons or lessons dropped during current month. In the event of prolonged illness or injury, please contact the front desk for arrangements.

Make Up Classes: UDC only makes up class when the studio cancels due to instructor illness, or inclement weather. Each instructor will schedule their own make-up class, which normally happens over breaks, or weekends.

Class Cancellation: In case of inclement weather, cancellation notices will be sent out through our newsletter, available on our voice messaging system (802-863-6600) and our UDC Facebook page. UDC will make this call by 2pm for inclement weather, we do not always follow school closings.

Valuables: UDC is not responsible for lost or misplaced personal property. A lost and found area is in our back dressing room. Any unclaimed items will be donated after 6 months.

Performances: UDC holds 2 performance weekends per year. We have a holiday showcase at the end of December for all Kids and Junior classes, and a spring showcase held the third weekend of June with all UDC students performing. We expect ALL students to participate in each show unless notice has been given to the instructors 30 days prior. Dancing on stage is new and nerve-racking for most young dancers, relying on your dance team is paramount for comfort, when dancers are missing it can GREATLY affect the group, PLEASE be mindful of this when making family decisions to be absent from shows. We are fully aware things come up, but please take this into consideration.

Performance Costumes: UDC only requires a paid costume fee for our spring show. Our costume fee is $25 PER CLASS, for Kids and Junior classes ONLY. This fee is due 45 days prior to spring showcase date and will be required of ALL students in each Kids and Junior classes, unless the dancer is terminating starting June 1st.

Cancellation Policy: We require parents/guardians communicate intent to discontinue classes 30 days prior to leaving the studio. Written notice can be by mail, email or hand delivered to the studio and should include an effective date for withdrawal.

Termination of Enrollment: In certain circumstances, when it is in the best interest of one or more students, it may be necessary for the Director to terminate a student's enrollment. Every effort will be made to correct a problematic situation before terminating enrollment. Reasons for termination of enrollment include the following: Disruptive or dangerous behavior by students or their parents, repeated unexcused absences or unfulfilled class, abuse of other children, staff or property.

REGULAR TUITION: With the exception of summer drop-in classes, or Special Master Classes, enrollment in a class is a commitment for the full term, September to June. The number of classes may vary per month, however tuition is based on an annual rate and payment for the term is divided into 10 equal monthly payments through JUNE. Monthly tuition is expected the 1st, or 15th of each month. Tuition is not prorated for absences, inclement weather cancellations, or holidays.
